This full moon in Sagittarius is a supermoon, which means the Moon is very close to the Earth. When the Moon is close to the Earth it has an effect on the tides, on seismic activity in general, and on us. When the full moon is in Sagittarius, as a mutable sign it can mean a time of high jinks, high energy, getting carried away, rambunctiousness, socializing and overdoing it. It can also mean a time where we seek out opportunities for fun, adventure, truth and growth. It brings a yearning for more freedom in general.
On a mundane level, people will have an increased appetite for fun adventure over the next few days and seek out opportunities to be sociable (Sun in Gemini). It will also mean an increased and palpable interest from ordinary people in events occurring on the world stage – as Jupiter is naturally aligned to a more macro view of the world. There’s going to be a lot of questioning going on and possibly pushback, or beginnings of pushback, against some of the more draconian agendas we’ve seen spring up in the past couple of years.
However, this full moon makes a T-square to Neptune in Pisces. Neptune can denote hidden agendas and deceit, so there is a sense that in amongst the general mood the populace will have a desire for truth and freedom, while the deep state will be making an active effort to obfuscate, confuse and dampen down/dissolve the questing energy of Sagittarius via Neptune. Sagittarius rules growth and freedom and is very difficult to constrain, so trying to put the Sagittarian fire out instead is quite a good tactic. Finding the truth, as we’ve seen while Neptune has been meandering through Pisces, can be difficult these days.
The ruler of this full moon is Jupiter and Jupiter has recently moved into Aries. This is a great boon for virtually all of us as Jupiter rules growth and Aries signifies birth or new energy, so this Sagittarius full moon is very strong. If you have access to your own chart, it may be worth seeing which house Sagittarius falls in so that you can make the most of this new growth/renewal energy. Jupiter will be traversing through Aries until October (so it is worth checking what house Aries sits in in your chart too), so capitalise on this new growth energy now. Many of us will be finding those areas of our charts very invigorated right now and if they are worked with consciously, they can produce some very beneficial results in those areas of your life.
So, with all this fire energy there will be a lot of passion and fervour flying around. Mars is also adding to this as he is in his home sign of Aries, so he has been stoking the Jupiterian flame for truth since the beginning of this month. Mars is currently conjunct Chiron, the wounded healer, so we can expect that we can have some intense clashes over old and perhaps hidden wounds that we would rather forget about. There is not much chance of that though in this current fire mix, so we are being presented with an opportunity to grasp the nettle of our proverbial wounds for healing and restoration. If you do run into a confrontational situation this month, bear in mind that it’s an opportunity to learn the balance between power and compassion. It’s not a surprise to me that the Roe vs Wade Supreme Court ruling in the US is expected at this time. Whatever the outcome, we will probably see the Mars vs Chiron dynamic play out full throttle there.
Saturn also takes pressure off this T-square between the Sun, Moon and Neptune, by supporting the Sun and Moon with harmonious aspects. It’s in the latter degrees of Aquarius, so this suggests that using this Jupiterian growth energy and funnelling it into new and alternative real-life projects is a good idea right now. This is echoed by Pluto in the late degrees of Capricorn, it is transforming the old established ways of doing things and institutions especially. Pluto makes a strong trine to Mercury, which is now direct and will be out of its shadow period on the 18th. This underscores how important it is to be working consciously with all these deep forces in our lives so that maximum transformation can take place. With this aspect, we will find our subconscious motivations much easier to access than usual.
The last aspect I wish to discuss is Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus. This can mean sudden shocks or changes in the romance and/or financial department (both can come under Taurus). On a mundane level this could mean meeting someone who you are instantly attracted to. On a more esoteric level what’s occurring is a reinvigoration of what we value and what we cherish. This can sometimes be uncomfortable and even painful as it can mean sudden and shocking events happening, seemingly out of nowhere, but it can also be in a positive way such as the love-at-first-sight/serendipity experience. It can be a clear-out of what we hold dear but, and it doesn’t always feel like this at the time, it is always so that something new and better can eventually emerge. The proximity of this conjunction to the north node (which demonstrates the evolutionary direction of travel for the chart in question) reinforces this interpretation.
So, the main message of this chart is to move your energy and attention out from the old structures and start to invest, as much as you are able, into new ones that are more aligned with who you are becoming. Take note of where there is growth in your life, or where you would like there to be growth in your life. Pay attention to the big ideas you have – maybe in secret, maybe not, depending on the kind of person you are. Sagittarius and Jupiter are very strong and energised now. Sagittarius always shows where we would like to go, as he is the archer. Use the bravery of Jupiter in Aries to help you accomplish your dreams!
