Libra New Moon 5th October 2021 12.05PM GMT
Libra represents the qualities of harmony, balance and integration. It also represents justice and ethics. When the new moon is in Libra it is time to consider all that has occurred this year and decide what needs to be brought into balance in our own lives, and what needs to be left behind (this belongs more to the new moon in Scorpio, but the process begins in Libra). Libra is the opposite of Aries, the opposite of that brimming zeal and enthusiasm we often feel in the spring. Libra energy is measured, reflective and considerate.
This Libra moon is in a strong position, at the top of the chart in the 10th house, which is associated with finances and career. It’s where we project ourselves out into the world.
Opposite the moon is Chiron, the wounded healer in the house of the childhood, home, and roots. This indicates that for balance and harmony to be achieved out in the world we need to look at our own inner wounds to really make changes, as our power in the outer world is only really a projection of what is within.
Chiron has been going through Aries for quite a while now nd it represents an area of life where wounding/healing will occur. In Aries, it represents youthful energy or innocence – and this loss of innocence about how the world really works and its corruption is important to recognise. It is only by experiencing this wounding, such as we are seeing across the West at the moment with the draconian measures being employed for the pandemic, and the integration of the knowledge such a wounding brings, that we can move forward, we can heal. It is only in recognising the corruption that we can all move forward.
The Moon makes a stressful aspect to Uranus in Taurus in the house of health. Obviously, this brings my attention to things like vaccine passports but it is also a reminder that we need to continue to be responsible for ourselves and the health of our loved ones rather than relying on big institutions. We need to focus on small details, good food, good sleep, being prepared and organised for any food shortages that may occur in the run-up to the Christmas period. Being organised and focused in this way will help with feeling harmonious and balanced.
This month it is really important to stay balanced and on an even keel as much as possible. Pluto square Mercury, as well as Neptune quincunx Mercury, demonstrate that disinformation will be out there – but do not let this depress you. Stay balanced in yourself and it will be easier to see these manipulation attempts for what they are.
Jupiter is trine Mercury, a lovely supportive aspect informing us that the most growth comes from focusing on freedom and talking about the future once again in a positive way. One thing I have noticed since the pandemic began is that we seem to be locked in some sort of perpetual present. Even now, after lockdowns have ended, there is uncertainty. This is promoted by the authorities using fear tactics and this is a way of stealing our time. As I’ve said previously, it’s a form of chaos magic, as fewer and fewer people now are planning future events such as holidays, parties, going to concerts etc. This entire debacle has captured our dreams and weakened our hope. I think this is a big part of the point of it, not just to rob us of hope but to really narrow our sense of time. It reminds me of the White Witch in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, where it is “always winter, and never Christmas”.
In this chart Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is rising. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign, it has to be as it is sandwiched between two of the heaviest signs in the zodiac (Scorpio and Capricorn), its job is to bring the light at the darkest time of the year. Sagittarius can only do that by being optimistic and shooting its arrows of hopes and dreams into the bleak midwinter. A powerful way we can recapture our balance is by not letting our dreams be stolen and to talk about them to each other as we would have done before this happened. We have to be able to project into the future for the future to exist, and at present we are building one the deep state wants for us by using their rhetoric, even if it’s just to agree with the uncertainty. That is what they want, so don’t give it to them – keep your dreams alive.
