This new moon takes place in the healing sign of Virgo and offers healing and restoration for all. As the moon is active three days either side of when it is new or full, I have been pondering if we’ve been seeing this effect in the recent peace treaties in the Middle East. How effective or long-lasting they are remains to be seen – but their signing around the time of such a powerful and peaceful new moon indicates that the ongoing tension in that area has been reduced considerably and will be for the foreseeable duration.

The Sun and Moon also make a supportive aspect to the Capricorn stellium, so it feels as if we have reached a temporary lull in the proceedings, an opportunity for brief respite in the chaos of this year, so grab it with both hands as this moon is a good time to begin sowing your intentions for the next harvest cycle to come, particularly if you are Virgo or the other earth signs of Taurus and Capricorn.

Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, sits in Libra and makes a stressful aspect to the Capricorn stellium. This suggests that behind the scenes there is some pressure building on the deep state regarding justice and accountability for hidden crimes and misdemeanours. Pressure is also building from Mars in the 6^th house, which suggests to me that not only are people sick of lockdown but want accurate information about it. Mars is the planet of life force/initiative and the 6^th house rules health, mundane work and is also linked to Virgo. So this gentle yet wise and intelligent energy is building in the collective and asking increasingly pertinent questions about our given narratives on many things.

This month, with Venus square Uranus, also indicates ongoing tension between different political groups. At the root of all of this is that people have different ideas of what it means to be loving and compassionate. Those words are used by some groups to control and demean others who don’t conform to their definitions for whatever reason. Some people believe that money should be used to demonstrate compassion and others believe it should be sentiment and emotion. Fortunately, as the Sun is in wise and steady Virgo, in the 11^th house (associated with Uranus), such explosiveness should be tempered.
